Student Teaching

MTEC’s student teaching services support the “grow-our-own” efforts in our partnering school systems. These services include support of in-state tuition and some fees at partnering universities of up to $600 for each 3 hour course for paraprofessionals during the full-time student teaching semester. Paraprofessionals in MTEC partnering school systems and student teaching at MTEC partnering universities may also apply for need-based stipends when required to take an unpaid leave of absence for the student teaching days.


To apply for these services:

Part I – Complete the Student Teaching Prior Approval Form the semester before you are scheduled to do your student teaching.  MTEC must receive your form by June 1 for fall semester student teaching and by October 1 for spring semester student teaching.


Part II - Complete the Student Teaching Service Request Form. MTEC must receive the form below and all related documents in one package by August 1 for fall semester student teaching and by December 1 for spring semester student teaching.
