DROPPING A COURSE

Refund Policy            University Contacts/Drop Instructions

IMPORTANT:  If it is necessary to drop a course, it should be done before classes begin or within the drop/add period as specified by each university’s policy.
  1. Make your drop request to the university as outlined below.  (Please scroll down to view the university contacts and directions.)
  2. Keep a copy of your drop request.
  3. Fax NCMTEC (919)962-3365 or email Leonard King at Leonard.king@ncmtec.org  Include: your name, date, last four digits of your SSN (ex: ***2312), university, semester, and the course number and title for the course you are dropping. 

Please remember, you must notify NCMTEC that you are dropping a course as well as the university.


CONSORTIUM REFUND POLICY
  • All refunds will reflect each university’s policy. In some instances, if a student is eligible for a refund, it may be pro rated.
  • If the university bills the Consortium for a dropped course, the Consortium will NOT issue a refund if the billed amount is equal to or greater than the co-pay. 
  • If it is determined that a client is eligible for a refund, it will be processed at the end of the semester. There are no exceptions.

  • Complete and mail in the REFUND REQUEST FORM along with the university drop confirmation in one envelope to the address below.

NC A & T State University Distance Learning There are 2 ways to drop/withdraw:
1. Students can send an email to distance@ncat.edu with
name, Banner ID Number, last four (4) digits of ss#, course to drop, semester of drop, daytime contact information, and a reason for dropping the course.

NC Central University To drop a course, the student must provide the request in writing. The request must include student’s name, student ID#, course name, CRN#, course section and reason for dropping the course. Email the request to disted@nccu.edu. or submit to the University College Department, Room 2051, School of Education building. THE LAST DAY TO DROP OR ADD A COURSE IS: Friday, August 24, 2007 at 4:00 PM.

UNC-Wilmington Registrar's Office

 

If the student wants to drop from 1 or more classes during drop/add but not from ALL of their classes they do it on line or they can contact the registrars office at 910-962-3125, fax number 910-962-3887.

If they want to completely withdraw during drop/add they contact the registrars and do a cancellation of classes. If they want to completely withdraw after drop/add closes they must contact the Dean of Students at 910-962-3119, fax number 910-962-3887.

If they want to withdraw from just one class after drop/add they must contact the Dean of Students.

Basically anything BEFORE drop/add ends can be handled online or in the registrars office. Anything AFTER drop/add must be dealt with through the Dean of Students.
