Special Sponsored Courses for Paraprofessionals
This service is available to NCMTEC paraprofessional clients who are unable to find the undergraduate courses they need through the Community Colleges or the Consortium Sponsored Course Service.
Paraprofessional Special Sponsored Courses are available for a copay of $80.00.
Paraprofessional Special Sponsored Courses are limited to two courses per semester per client.
For a course to be eligible, it must meet all the following conditions:
- The course must be on your plan of study for a teacher education degree or licensure.
- The course cannot be a course, or its equivalent, that can be taken at a community college within 40 miles of your home or work, or on the internet that semester.
- The course cannot be a course, or its equivalent, that is listed as a Consortium Sponsored Course on the NCMTEC website within 40 miles of your home or work, or the internet for that semester.
Exception: The only exception is if your college or university will not accept the Community College course or Consortium Sponsored course to meet your degree or licensure requirements.
If this is the case, you will need to provide a letter from your advisor stating that the community college course or the course we are already sponsoring will not transfer back to your college or university to meet your degree or licensure requirement. Include this letter with your course request packet.
